About Quilted

Needle

Quilted is a worker-owned, cooperatively-managed company stitching together technology and social change. We take on work that challenges us to be more critical and insightful designers, engineers, and thinkers while remaining pragmatic and focused on adding real social value to our projects.

We provide strategic consulting, graphic design, and web development services to progressive arts, education, and non-profit organizations. We focus on standards based design and work with open source technologies such as Drupal, WordPress, CiviCRM, Ruby on Rails.

Quilted is a team of four energetic thinkers and reflective doers.

Ben MauerBen Mauer is a veteran web designer passionate about using technology and design to bring about sustainable change on a human scale, and increased participation in the systems that shape our everyday lives. Craftsmanship, and a deep personal commitment to his clients' needs is what powers his heart.

Colin SaganColin Sagan is committed to making clear, accessible and, above all, useful media that supports cultural producers and activists guided by a structural understanding of power. He enjoys designing collaborative systems to facilitate vivid and effective communication.

Erik HoppErik Hopp has designed websites for ten years, emphasizing creative approaches to social justice work that inspire active resistance to authoritarian control, passive existence, and consumer capitalist culture. He gets excited about providing appropriate media tools to make organizations more efficient and effective and fostering participatory democratic social structures.

Michelle Moon LeeMichelle Moon Lee is enthusiastic about developing websites that are accessible, well-designed, and support social justice. She enjoys programming of all shapes, collaborative design, and creative solutions. She also makes games that encourage education, collaboration, social awareness, and critical thinking.
